Photo's Missing in Previous Posts

Today I noticed that my header, side bar widgets, and photos from previous posts are not showing up. I am not sure what happened as we have not done anything out of the ordinary.
The only thing I can think of is that we switched out a photo from a previous post, yesterday, that we originally posted September 4th. All posts after September 4th are still loading there images, however everything before September 4th are missing there photos. Could switching out the photo in the September 4th post cause a glitch within the system?
Is there anyway to fix this with out having to reload all these images into each post?
