Offline develpoment

    I have been asked to updated a website that has been created with WordPress. I would like to develop the site offline (not publishing it) until I am satisfied with its appearance. How can this be done?

    Set up a local LAMP, WAMP or MAMP (Linux, Windows or Mac) stack on your local machine. Install WordPress and develop the site before finally pushing the new site to your production environment.

    If the *AMP stuff is unknown to you, just Google the type which is appropriate to you and you’ll find loads of help pages.
