WP Upgrade yet another newbie “?”

    I’m abit confused from the supports on upgrading procedures. My question is that, how do we properly upgrade from previously installed WordPress? Just upload new version over writing the old ones? Or use Upgrade.php?
    I though Upgrade.php are meant for those that wish to upgrade from Moveable Type or B2 and other blog types.
    Please advice. Thank you in advance.

    yeah u just need to upload the new files and run upgrade.php
    its as simple as that.
    what version u want to upgrade from?

    Ops sorry.
    I am using 1.2 alpha nightly 3/25/04.
    The way I’ve been doing it is just upload the new nightly OVERWRITING the old blog but I backup my wp-layout.css and index.php before all of this.
    So you mean I was suppose to point my browser to Upgrade.php each time I do this?

    yup.
    for every nightly i try, i just upload the new files (except for my custom index and stylesheet)
    and run the upgrade file…

    Yes, you must run ugrade.php each time to ensure any database changes and the like are taken care of.
