WordPress powered “live journal”

    What if someone were to take wordpress and edit and add enough to make it the basis of a “livejournal”-like project. Something where users could join and get their own space and their own wordpress account free of charge. Would this be allright for people to do and if so would it be a good idea at that?
    P.S. Please don’t flame me for asking…i’m not trying to do such a thing to steal credit or anything =p

    MT and pMachhine require such sites to register a commercial version of ther software. Not sure about WP.

    WP is under the GPL, which you should read. Basically you can charge, sell, do whatever to it as long as you also distribute whatever code changes you make under the GPL.

    well most probably u will have to wait for a multi blog hosting from a single installation version of WP…

    I would just use wordpress is a basis and then edit alot and make alot of my own code to make it multi user…

    well if u are able to make it a multiblog system, why not submit it to matt so that we have that feature sooner rather than late!
