Login problems

I am having problems configuring WPBB, specifically the permissions and login.
If I “Enable guest permissions” anonymous non-logged in users are allowed to view and read the forums and topics (this is good), but when they try to post or reply to a topic, the error message says “you do not have the required permissions to reply in this forum.” (It is also good that they cannot participate unless they are logged in.)
However, the problem is this, it does not direct these people to where they can register or login in order to be able to post. They sit there dazed and confused. The screen or anywhere on the forum does not offer the Facebook login or even guide them to it.
ON THE OTHER HAND … if I disable the guest permissions and allow it to default, guests or anonymous users can’t view or read the topics. The forum is on complete lock down. The only thing a guest sees is something urging them to login using Facebook.
Is it possible to marry the two … to have the full forum showing but urging non-registered or non-logged in guests to first register or login in order to participate?
