On my site here the homepage looks skewompus. It thinks its a blog and has each item on its own section. How do I get them on the same section? Also it would be nice if I could take the “leave a response” off. How would I do those things?

I have looked there. I must just not know where to look. I want to use it to make my business website. Is it impossible to change it to a non-blog looking site?

Yes, to start with use static pages, not posts, and turn off comments.

Under Settings > Discussion – don’t allow comments. For individual pages, look under Quick Edit and uncheck “allow comments.”

If you are just starting and want a site like that consider hiring a web designer. WordPress has a big learning curve.
