    Hi,

    I am having an issue using bulk smush.it. After clicking run all my images through smush.it it thinks for a about 3 minutes and produces the following error:

    500 – Internal server error.
    There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

    Please note I do not use a CDN, but do use w3 total cache.

  • @acdinsweb,

    You might want to verify that W3 Total Cache is not caching for the admin area. I don’t think it does by default. It could be that just a timeout trying to process too many images. Try this. Go to Media > Library. Select 2-3 images which have not already been processed via Smush.it. Set the checkbox in the first column of the row. Then from the dropdown above the listing select the option to Smush.it. The click the button next to the dropdown. See if you can get a small set of images processed.

    After visiting my media library it looks like a bunch of images were actually smushed, meaning that this is definitely a timeout issue. I will smush the rest in small batches.

    Thanks!!!

    @acdinsweb,

    Great. Thanks.

    I will smush the rest in small batches.

    If you go to Settings > Media you should see the section for the Smush.it plugin. You can increase the timeout. But that just means the processing will hang the screens for that amount of time. Small batches is probably best.
