I have a site where I am unable to disable maintenance mode. I have tried setting the plugin to False selecting Update and then Save as I normally do. I have even tried uninstalling the plugin; which appears to be a clean uninstall. After uninstalling the plugin I get an unformatted Maintenance Mode page. After reinstalling the plugin, I see my formatted MM page. However, I am unable to edit the page from the plugin setting.

At this point, I need to fully disable the MM. Does anyone have any thoughts? I am running WP 6.3 and WP Maintenance Mode 1.8.11

  • If you can deactivate or uninstall, then is sure a problem from a cache. Maybe you have cache plugin or static cache via webserver. The plugin don’t save data to this topic and can’t get a MM page, if is inactive or killed via FTP.

Thanks Frank, that did the trick!

    Hi Frank,

I have the same problem. The Plugin does’t react. Deactivating of Maintenance mode impossible, changes in the settings are not visible, deactivating or removing the plugin doesn’t take any effect too. Deactivating all other plugins and changing the theme

CachePlugins are not installed, browser cache is cleared.

    WP 3.8.1
    WP-Maintenance Mode 1.8.11

    Thorsten

Do you can open the settings area?
Can you change the settings and save?
You have realy no caching plugin?
