Compatibility with Expound theme | WordPress.org

I installed the plug-in on my site with the Expound theme but it does not seem to work. The standard “Proudly powered by WordPress | Theme: Expound by Konstanntin Kovshenin.” is the only thing showing in the footer area. Any help would be appreciated!
