add this to the custom css panel in the Theme Options:

a[href^=".pdf"] {
     background-image: none;
     padding: 0;
     margin: 0;
}

Hey Roger, can you post a link to your site, specifically the page you’re using the pdf links? I seem to recall it being tricky removing those images so I want to take a look and play with it in Chrome.

Okay, try this:

a[href$=".pdf"] {
     background-image: none;
     padding: 0;
     margin: 0;
}

Actually, I think that might. Change it so it’s just:

a {
     background-image: none;
     padding: 0;
     margin: 0;
}

That should do it.
