• I’m brand new at WP and am editing/creating my first posts. I just tried to upload an image to my post (.jpg file, average size) in the Write section of the dashboard – and it wouldn’t upload, and gave me the error message:

“Unable to create directory F:\Inetpub\wwwroot\markallencam.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/06. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

I am just confused by the question “parent directory writable by server?” and could not find anything in the documentation about this. I am using “A Blog Beyond” theme, not one of the classic themes, if that makes any difference.

    Any suggestions?
    Mark

  • parent directory == ONE directory above where it says. but actually in this case two (dont ask why, its a pita to explain)

    “F:\Inetpub\wwwroot\markallencam.com/wp-content/uploads/” <—

your uploads directory needs to be writable for wordpress to upload.
