Removing sidebar from posts

Hi there,

I like the format of the Single Post, but instead of a 3-column layout (as in the icons, post content, image sidebar) I want a 2-column one because I don’t use the sidebar (i.e. just icons on the left, and combined post+sidebar on the right). I can’t figure out how to edit it in single.php, and I tried using a full width template with the custom post templates plugin but it loses the formatting. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
