Colorbox not working with theme

Your plugin is awesome! I use it on several of my sites. I am having an issue with one of my themes not playing nice with the plugin. I have tried to speak with the theme developer but they are not being very helpful. On the portfolio page, which is mysite.com/media, when I click on one of the portfolio post it doesn’t actually go to the portfolio post. The url still shows mysite.com/media and they use some sort of lightbox to display the portfolio item. This doesn’t allow colorbox to work. If I go directly to the portfolio post, mysite.com/portfolio-item/blah, then it works correctly. I know this my be outside the scope of what you can help me with but I thought I would ask to see if you had any ideas of how I can make the colorbox work with this theme. Thank you.
