Simple .htaccess question

    I have my blog set up at http://www.GolfBettingGuide.com/blog.

    Do I need a .htaccess file in the blog directory or can I just use the existing one at GolfBettingGuide.com (ie the root directory) ?

    Also is there a way for wp to automatically write to the .htaccess file ?

    The .htaccess files are specific to each directory, so you would need one inside /blog.

    Go to Options->Permalink to have WP generate one specific to WP and it’s structure.
