I’d start here:
http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A//www.captainsdead.com./
Also, saying that “the font sizes have just gone haywire” – doesn’t really help. Something more precise would help the helpers…
i apologize for not being clear enough. the long and short of it is this. on the main page of my site all but the last 3 post’s fonts are much larger than they should be. the large fonts also have carried over to my side bar links and such. when you click the post header and get taken to the single post page everything is normal and as it should be. so, its just the main page that is messed up. i have not installed any widget/plugin/etc that may have caused that issue. hopefully that is a bit clearer. thanks.
Yes, it’s clearer. However, while you have that many errors nobody will take a closer look. And notice, some of the errors refer to faulty font size lines in your posts.
So, again: clean up the code and post back after that – if the problem persists.
thanks, will do. didnt know about that handy tool, and thats quite a few errors i got there. again, thanks.
I haven’t looked, but something that I find happens quite a lot is people paste something in a post that they copied from another website, or an email or something. A lot of tag information is hidden in there that is often incomplete, and leaves open tags and such. This will affect everything that follows, as tags left open are applied to later items, and everything goes ‘haywire’.
I recommend you clean your posts as a first move. Go to the manage screen and edit a post. Select the whole post and copy it. Then open notepad, and paste it. Then, select all in notepad and copy. Go back to your post, select all, and paste. Since notepad will ignore all the tags, it effectively removes them from the whole post. Do this for every post.
Once you’ve done that, you might find your problems are gone. If they persist, it’s to do with the theme.
thats weird, i dont do much copy and pasting but it kind of started after i had copy and pasted a url into one of my posts. thanks for the tip.
manstraw, as it turns out that was my problem. the one url i had cut and pasted was filled with a whole bunch of garbage, and thus making everything look funky. thanks again.
