Half-line Space After Paragraphs?

    Morning all
    Thanks for your help widening my posts – I now have one last question then I am happy forever.
    I find that putting <P> and </P> creates too large a space under my paragraphs, whereas having everything running on together (when you don’t use <P> tags).
    Is there anything in between – can I make a site-wide change that means <P> tags leave a half-line gap rather than a full line?
