new it was going too well, noticed that on pages with map not loading, a cookie consent keeps asking for consent, ok on all other non map pages, but turning it off makes no difference, not sure what to check as not sure how they function.
tried another theme ok, strange as working on original site, next thing to do? delete theme re install?
OK running a child theme of my theme, deactivate and run main theme ok.
delete child theme and copy one from site that is working, activate again problem returns, can’t see why?

well even if the child theme is empty, problem persists, revert to main theme ok. So why would an empty child theme cause this?
AH only difference between this new site and old is upgraded to version 5.5 on here running old version on other, possible?
running local copy with old events manager and child theme no issues also

Just updated local copy to version 5.5 and now have same issue with my themes child, maps wont load
Same problem over here, in single events page this is what I get in Chrome’s console:
Uncaught ReferenceError: map is not defined events-manager.js?ver=5.5:778
It just displays a grey background with the words “loading map” but it never loads.

If you use a child theme, revert to main theme, it cures the error , obviously not the solution but a work around until someone reads this thread.
Think we need a thread just for 5.5 issues.

i,m using a theme from themify, the theme works fine, but if i add a child-theme even if totally empty it causes these issues, so i can’t see it being a theme issue as the main theme works ok
I’m using an Artisteer theme without child theme. Everything was working ok until the last update.

Marcus, child theme was fine on old version, tried emptying the folder so it contained nothing, but still get issue, just tried an install local with old version and fine, upgrade to 5.5 and problem again.
Could it be anything to do with cookies as with child theme active my cookie consent keeps asking for consent, remove child theme all ok, if i deactivate cookie plugin keep child theme i still have original issue though
a few more people are reporting this, but it’s working fine for us in our sites. however, clearly there’s something going on since more ppl are reporting this.
if you can post links to your site with the error that’d be helpful.
we don’t use cookies for maps, but chances are this is specific-theme related and not EM or a child-theme problem. I’ll still test a child theme to see.

well my site has it removed for now, no errors just no maps load, keeps saying loading
