Listing posts on two different places

Hi there!

I am currently setting up a new template for my blog, and I need to list up recent blogposts in two different locations on the same page.

This is the “effect” i want to achieve:

On my main page (index.php) I wanna show only the very last post i added to the blog, with the full text and all that – but only one, the last, post.

In my sidebar.php i wanna have the titles of the emfive nextem posts.

Is this possible to make using only the wordpress loop with no modifications, or do i need some plugin of some sort or whatever?
