Applying access restrictions

    Love this updated version with document attachments, Boone. Perfect! Now using it extensively.

    One question.

    I created a document and assigned it to a private group, i.e., Access: Read, edit, and view restricted to members of that group.

    However, up at the top of the doc, I see these settings:

    This Doc can be read by: Anyone
    This Doc can be edited by: Logged-in Users
    Comments are visible to: Anyone
    Comments can be posted by: Logged-in Users
    History can be viewed by: Anyone

    I click on edit, and that brings me back down to the Access settings, so it appears I can’t change them.

    Then, as a non-logged-in member of the public, I search for a term within that document, and the doc shows up, and I can view it online.

    What do I do to apply the permissions I set in the “Access” box?

    Is this still happening, Jay? When I follow the link above, I’m led to a login page.

    Did you see any error message after attempting to save the new access settings? Are you sure that the Doc is associated with the group in question?

    Thanks for following-up, Boone. I changed the permissions to public and then back to private/group and the privacy was then corrected. So, I’ll mark this resolved.

    One interesting point, though. When I click on that link in Safari, I’m not brought to a log-in screen (or a “you are not allowed to view this document” warning), but simply redirected to the home page.

    I’d actually rather they be prompted by a log-in page, too, so I’ll keep investigating that.
