• Hi

I have a problem with one of the plugins and I guess that this forum is not offering support for plugins so, this is why I am asking for wp support and I think that the problem might be from wordpress

    Here is the problem :

I have the plugin called “WordPress Premium Content” from jigowatt. I have bought the plugin and I have posted this problem like 2 weeks ago. But no answer to my ticket. The plugin can make an standard article into a premium.

In the “Premium Content” box, when I try to switch from NO to YES (see image http://tutorial-z.com/uploads/error.jpg ), after I click the Update or Publish button, it wont stay on Yes, but it will switch back to NO.
First, I have thought that it might be a problem on the plugin, but until now it worked, so … i guess that its nothing wrong with the plugin.

I have disabled all other plugins, and nothing, the problem persists. I have installed the plugin on another website and it worked. So, I guess that it might be because of wordpress ( I am using the 3.5.2 version)

Here is my ON Topic question :

I would like to know how can I reinstall the wordpress without loosing any content (comments, pages, articles, etc). I have found an answer here : http://wordpress.org/support/topic/reinstall-wordpress-without-losing-the-contents-of-the-site

But since I am not very efficient at this kind of stuffs, can you please tell me “How to…” in a step-by-step way ? And I would also like to know how to make a backup for wordpress and for the database

    Thank you 🙂

I’m sure you understand that you will need to take that up with the author.

That’s not anything we can help you with here. Commercial products are not supported in these forums.

I would like to know how can I reinstall the wordpress without loosing any content (comments, pages, articles, etc). I have found an answer here :

Before you do anything to your installation you should make a full backup of your files and database and store that somewhere safely off of your web server.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_Database
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup

With that backup saved then if something goes really wrong then you can at least put it all back as it is now.

Your posts, pages, comments, and all content is stored in the database. I’m not sure what you mean by re-install but anything you do to your files shouldn’t hurt your content. Still make that backup though, safety nets are your friend.

Trust me, I am trying to get some support from them since 2 weeks, but nothing. This is the last shot, reinstalling the WordPress.

Thank you for your reply, so, if I will backup everything that I have on the website right now, in a folder on my pc, and then, during the re-installation of the wordpress if something will go wrong, I can simply re-upload the content from the folder where I have downloaded the entire content and everything should be fine ?

If you mean the post images etc. then yes. You can’t just upload the database like a file though. See that third link I posted.

Ever hear of the expression “tossing out the baby with the bath water”…?

Before you do anything drastic (but make that backup first anyway, that’s always a good idea) try some basic troubleshooting first.

    – Switch to the Twenty Twelve theme.

    – Deactivate all of your plugins except that commercial one that’s giving you problems

    – Clear your browser’s cache and cookies

    – Re-login and try again

If it still doesn’t work then at least you’ll have confirmed that it’s just that one plugin.

If it does work then there may be a conflict with your theme and/or another plugin.

    I just tried to :
    – Switch to the Twenty Twelve theme.

    – Deactivate all of your plugins except that commercial one that’s giving you problems

    – Clear your browser’s cache and cookies

    – Re-login and try again
But without success. I guess that I will make a backup and try to reinstall the wp. Do you know where I can find the 3.5.2 version ? I can only find the 3.6 version but I don’t know if the plugins that I have are compatible with this new version of WP
