• hey guys,

I’m currently using wordpress beta tester plugin on my wordpress site and I accidently (stupidly) used the plugin which updated my site to wordpress version 3.7-alpha-25000. I would like to revert it to the standard 3.6 stable version… is there anything I can do? I do not have access to a recent backup

  • I would guess you can do a manual “upgrade” that would actually be a down grade to 3.6 without doing harm or having trouble caused by the database upgrade at 3.6. After making a backup, temporarily renaming the plugins folder and activating the Twenty Twelve theme, you would delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folders, then upload those folders and other root files (but not the wp-content folder) from a previously-downloaded copy of 3.6…and if you wish, I can first try that at my sandbox site to see whether my theory is correct!

my backup wordpress doesn’t seem to work ATM.. I don’t know why. Have you tried it on your sandbox site?

I do not know what backup plugin or tool you are mentioning there.
