I think I got ahead of myself and did quite a few posts but some of those posts should be children of the main menu item.
Example: Media (main) and drop down covers Organizations, Journalists, and Radio. Hovering over Media should show all the children and clickable to get to that child.
I may add to each drop down so will need to know how to add also.
I am 75 years old and new to Word Press.
Is there anyone who can help me straighten out this situation.
I understand the video except I only have one page on my site and the rest are posts. Must I convert the posts to pages and will I lose any of the content of those posts by doing that?
Very helpful so far need just a little more if you can.
Thanks.

Hi NikV
Got it to work however when visiting the site and clicking on one of the items in the drop down I get an error page “not found” but can on that page use the search bar and it takes me to the correct page.
See State links – click on Wyoming.
Thanks again.

Category. All states and drop downs from the Media Menue are categories (Posts)
I also noticed that Washington was working OK and wondered if it just takes time after updateing.

Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting via Settings -> Permalinks. If this works, then review Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.
Think I have it straightened out but we shall see as I enter more states.
The one step I missed was when quick editing I didn’t click on the state and the parent and then update/save
Just put in West virginia (that’s where I attended an Equestrian College) and works fine. All woeking
Thanks again for your help. I am keeping the link so if I may need additional tutoring I’ll give you a toot.
