Linking Problem

I have wordpress installed on a sub directory and I am trying to link to that sub directory from the root directory using Adobe Contribute. I am having difficulty because when I like to my wordpress site the link goes to the folder in my FTP and not the wordpress website. You have to manually type the www in front of the website to reach WP. Any suggestions about how to fix this?
