Hi,
thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble. Good to hear that you created a Finnish translation! 🙂
Additionally to adding the files to that folder, you’ll need to set “fi_FI” as the value of the constant WP_LANG in the wp-config.php file of your WordPress installation. Additionally, make sure that the setting for the language in the “Plugin Options” of TablePress is set to “WordPress default”.
And if you want, I’ll gladly add your translation to the next version of TablePress, so that other users from Finnland can benefit from it! For that, please send me the .po and .mo files via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”). Thanks!
Regards,
Tobias
Hi!
That resolved the problem. My WP_LANG was set to “fi”, so I renamed the .po and .mo files to tablepress-fi, and it works.
I was a bit lazy when I translated the plugin so the translation is not very good(some parts are still in english), but I can send it if you want. 🙂
Hi,
very nice that this helped! Now, if you changed WP_LANG to “fi_FI”, your WordPress Dashboard is now English, right? So, the better fix might actually be to rename your language files to tablepress-fi.po and tablepress-fi.mo. I guess for the Finnish language, the used code is just “fi”, unlike to most other languages.
And, yes, I’d like to have that Finnish translation, if you don’t mind. As there’s still some time left until the next release of TablePress, you can maybe continue working on it (as your time permits of course), to complete the translation?
Regards,
Tobias
