My idea, possible?

    Hey everyone,

    So I would like to create a website where I will be able to upload several videos daily. If you would like to get an idea of what I am talking about, check out “www.vinescope.com” Their website is pretty simple. However, I would like the same concept where I can share videos but there will be different sections such as “top rated”, “featured” and so on.

    The website will be very similar to vinescope, as I will be sharing videos and they will be able to tweet it, or share and like it through facebook.

    I have registered my website with godaddy hosting, and installed the wordpress application.

    I would like to know if my idea is possibe, as when I open wordpress.. it seems so simple and only meant for simple blogs.

    Please let me know what to do so I can get started with my website.

    Quite possible. Will take some work with themes and plugins.

    Thanks for your reply. However, would you recommend WordPress for this job, or is there something easier to go with? I know almost no HTML.

    I’ve never tried anything else. I don’t think there are many things out there that you can do such an ambitious thing without learning some HTML, CSS, Javascript, and PHP. However, WordPress plugins and themes are plentiful and I’ve seen a lot of them that address uploading and presenting videos as well as addressing social media interfaces. Take some time to browse the themes and plugins that are available.

    I would say with that kind of haul of daily videos and wanting sections of “top rated” and “featured” and whatnot you’d probably need some kind of database to keep track of anything. Definitely check out some theme and plugins for what you are looking for, as well as obviously this site, there’s plenty of people i’m sure that could help you out.
