Recommend A Good Slidebar

Hi guys,
I’m currently building my own child theme using the leaf theme as the parent.

I really don’t like the slidebar the theme uses and was wanting a plugin which could provide me with the slidebar used in theme or one very similar:

Secondly I’m fairly new to wordpress, css, html etc. Will it be difficult to install?
Any hints or tips would be much appreciated.
