Local Host Nice Permilinks?

So I can get wordpress running good on my localhost… but only if I don’t turn on the fancy permilinks that I use on the production server, this of course causes all kinds of problems things that are built on static pages. Is there a trcik to getting permilinks that arn’t ID #’s working on your localhost?

Basically my structure is this:
/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

Nothing complicated there… I also named the category name..
