Problem with changling permalink structure

    I am building a website on my localserver,
    And I just changed the permalink structure to Post Name.

    So the permalinks all changed in my pages, when i go to edit them I can see them there, but when i want to preview the page it gives me a 404.
    But the new permalink even shows up in the edit area? but can’t link to the permalink????

    It works again when i change it back to default, but when i change the permalink structure to post name it just doesn’t follow the link.
    Really want to get this site up in the next day or two…

    Please help!

    Is mod_rewrite running on the server?

    You can enable mod_rewrite as on using php.ini in case you use xampp or wamp server this is easy to do.

    Otherwise my advice don’t use permalinks in localhost.

    Anyways you can set it while making the site live when installing on server.
