So is just me or does Jetpack break FEE?

I’m running a multisite install of Twenty Twelve with no other plugins activated, and if Jetpack is activated FEE does not allow me to edit the post content (it does let me edit everything else). It flips to Save/Cancel OK, but when you click on the text to edit it, nothing happens.

It does however work, with Jetpack activated, if I disable the WYSIWYG editor in FEE.

I can’t find anyone else with this problem – and ideas how I can remedy, really need WYSIWYG (and Jetpack) for this install

    Thanks

    Chas

Do you have the “Edit all post fields at once.” option checked on your Settings > Front-end Editor page? If yes, see https://github.com/scribu/wp-front-end-editor/issues/98

Nope, I don’t have that enabled.

It’s definitely something with Jetpack, as I just tried a fresh install of WP on another server, with Twenty Twelve. Installed/activated FEE and it worked normally.

Then I activated Jetpack 2.3.1 and the same thing happened again. When I click ‘Edit’ for the post content, the post appears to become editable, with Save/Cancel appearing, but when I click in the post, nothing happens. Also the Aloha WYSIWYG toolbar never appears. Can edit the title just fine. No other plugins (or anything for that matter) are activated.

This is the error that pops up in Console (OSX Chrome 28.0.1500.71) when I try to edit the content:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'presets' of undefined jquery.spin.js?ver=1.3:94

    Uncaught Error: Mismatched anonymous define() module: function (){return factory(ns,root);}
    http://requirejs.org/docs/errors.html#mismatch aloha.js:1542

Then if I hit ‘Save’ the spinning progress wheel just hangs in a constant spin, and nothing else happens. (Cancel seems to work OK)

Hitting ‘Save’ reports this error in console:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'nodeName' of undefined aloha.js:68159
    jQuery.extend.getEditableById aloha.js:68159

If I disable the WYSIWYG editor in FEE settings, then FEE works but only in HTML mode.

I have another (drafting) WP site which happens to have an older version of Jetpack installed (1.3.4) and on that installation FEE works just fine. Definitely seems like something is up with Jetpack 2.3.1

let me know if there is anything else you need to know…

    Thanks,

    Chas

I’m having the same problem. I just deactivated jetpack, and is now working fine. Would like jetpack, though. Love to figure it out.
