• Hi There

I’ve got 2 issues that I’m throwing out the universe to see if they can be solved:

    1.WORDPRESS UPGRADE WILL NOT WORK
I’ve tried to upgrade from 3.4.2 to 3.5.2 but it will not work. I keep on getting an error message. Is it a matter of changing the permissions on my upgrade folder in wp-content, upgrading it then switching it back to 755?

    2. IMAGES WILL NOT UPLOAD
Is this an issue because if haven’t upgraded WP or my theme (TryMee 1.2.1)? I can manually override and upload by switching permissions to 777 but I don’t want to leave the site vulnerable.

    My site is: http://www.stsservices.com.au

    Cheers

I don’t think that can hurt. Try setting your file and directory permissions like so.

If setting file and directory permissions solves it then give that link I posted above a look. It sounds like your installation may be a little to restrictive.

Thanks Jan for the quick reply! -I’ll give both replies a shot today.

When you say ‘sounds like your installation may be a little to restrictive’ – si this a case of also talking to my ISP?

    Hi Jan
I’ve just tried to do automatically update WordPress and it isn’t happening.

When I click on ‘Update’ button, it does go to the ‘Update WordPress’ screen – but it is just blank – no information about how it is progressing.

I really think it could be my ISP and their high security settings. I’ve tried to do a manual update but that is not happening either. When I use a database backup plugin, I keep on getting a message saying that ‘your webhost does not allow the sheel command to be executed’ so it looks as if i’ll have to give them a call.

    Cheers
