Cannot insert only one image from media gallery

    I have uploaded 4 photos into a gallery and I want to use them one at a time to illustrate the post. However, when I click Add Media and open the gallery, even though I select only one image I am offered only one option and that is to insert gallery.

    Where is the problem?
