    Any reason why wordpress would not recognise this video please:

    When I paste the URL onto a page on my website it does not show as a Youtube video but instead just as a hyperlink. Is there a way I can allow this video to be shown on my website page not as a hyperlink but as a video?

    Thanks

    YouTube provides you with embed code, use that.

    Try using the TEXT editor and don’t switch editors until you’ve updated the page. Worked fine for me on a test site.

    the TEXT editor current reads…

    <p style=”text-align: left;”>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SjbHJ28iec</p>
    <p style=”text-align: left;”> </p>

    WordPress still does not like the video. It has had over 2million views and is not rude in any way!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    I just tried it and had no problems at all. Did you try making a NEW post in the TEXT editor, pasting in the URL and updating the page before doing anything else? Copy the URL fresh from the YT page as well.

    If that doesn’t work, can you provide a link to the page where it’s not working?

    I am trying to add this video to a page, not to a new post. The text editor is the tab next to ‘visual’ right?

    Yes, the tab marked TEXT. Switching editors can be troublesome, so I’d try it on a new post just as a test…

    It works as a new post, I just tried, however I want it on my media page, under the title ‘videos’. Maybe this is not possible?

    Right now that IS a link – have you tried removing that code in the text editor?

    <p style="text-align: left;">
    <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SjbHJ28iec">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SjbHJ28iec</a>
    </p>

    Delete that code above (in the text editor), repaste the URL and update the page.

    Still wont work, really not sure what I am doing wrong now!

    Thanks anyways

    Still a link – you’re not making it a link are you?

    You could also try making a new test page – just as a test.

    Or try the YouTube embed code – that might work too.
