Upadate to 3.5.2

    Being fairly new to WordPress, I have a pretty basic question. My blog at http://www.catholictravelblog.com is using WP 3.5.1 and is a child theme of twenty twelve. When I log on it asks me to update to 3.5.2 but I am a bit wary. Will anything change or go away if I update? I finally have it almost the way I want it and don’t want to have to start over.

    No. You should be fine. In fact, not upgrading is far more risky as it leaves your site open to the risk of being hacked. Just remember to backup your database before you being the upgrade process.

    Thanks, esmi. I have a problem: I don’t know how to backup my database. Amazing, I know. I probably should not be allowed to try to design a website, but here I am.

    Have a look at WordPress_Backups.
