Switch server file location in public.html

Hi all,

When I signed up to use WordPress I designated a file folder to the new site in my public.html folder so I could create a new site without taking down the old one. I’m almost ready to launch the new site and I’m worried it’s not as simple as I assumed in the beginning. I know when I started there was an option to leave the directory (?) folder name blank, but I’m not sure if I just need to change that one thing or if the links on my site and location of images will need to be corrected.
