• My database is 1.3mb or so. 150 pages and posts.

My wordpress installation however is approaching 800mb and I have no idea why. Any clues as to why? Where can I look to analyze?

  • Do you have images/other media files that are large-sized?
Edit: Additionally, revisions and other garbage added by some plugins and themes can add to database (which any way is reasonably sized).

Nope, not that large at all. I’d like a way to go through and clean it up because it’s ridiculously large.

I have another site that is similar in content but is much much smaller.

Your database is 1.3mb only which is not that large. Do you want to further optimize it or reduce the overall size (800mb) that is largely due to other factors. Can you link to your site?

Yeah it’s the overall size that I want to reduce. I want to know why its 800 mb

How did you get the size of your site/installation. Sorry, I do not find anything that can account for 800mb.

Lots and lots of very large images?

Sorry, esmi. I could not find them as you say. Could you?

on my WHM for my hosting account, my site is taking up 800mb of space. I guess if its not within wordpress, it could be something with Hostgator? Perhaps I can ask them to do an analysis?

Turns out, it was a 530mb error log! What in the world?

Ok that is solved. Now I need to know why my installation is still 80mbs (backupbuddy files are 80mb, other site is 13mb).

    Thanks everyone!
