Large media library import.

    Little bit of a unique problem here.

    I need to export from a WordPress blog with a large amount of media, and I mean large. I don’t know the exact size of everything, but there are about 1400 images in this media library, some compressed jpegs, others large (8-14 MB) png files. The target server will be a Multisite install. Yes, everything’s going on a sub-site.

    I happen to have a Multisite server of my own set up, so I’ve been attempting a few test runs. However, the imports never complete. After beginning the import, the process appears to hang, and the pages reloads prematurely. As a result, only a handful of the images are imported from the old site (about ~20).

    I understand this is possibly due to the sheer amount of data I’m trying to transfer here. Is there an easier way to export all this media into a Multisite install? Or can I somehow make the import process work?
