• I have a child theme of twenty twelve template and have been building the site using widgets. Something I have done has doubled the “Home” link on the nav bar and I’m unsure why. I’ve not been manipulating the base code, only the widgets through their “Settings”

    My site is: http://www.emilyburesh.com/

  • Have you explored the Menus area of the admin at all? It looks like you may have it set where it adds all your top level pages automatically, so if you created a new page called “home” that would be the new link on the right.

Here’s some info about Menus: http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_Screen

You can find the settings under Appearance > Menus.

I only have three pages and those are all listed. It’s almost like it duplicated somewhere.

I’ll keep searching, but maybe I checked something somewhere.

Unless you’ve set it otherwise, the first “Home” page is the page that shows your posts. Your other “Home” page is a static page. It’s not duplicated, the default multi-post home page doesn’t require you to set up a page for it, it’s just there unless you tell WordPrss otherwise.

You can change those settings under Settings > Reading if you want to use a different page for the posts. You’ll need to create a page, e.g. Blog.

I understand that and have everything set properly. I created a “Blog” page so that the posts are redirected to there and that the Home is static.

There seems to be something wrong elsewhere with the coding. Unsure if it’s with the set up of the child theme or not. Thank you for your help Zoe!
