Did you set the nameservers for your domain name to point to hostgator.com?

GoDaddy – since it’s registered there, that’s where the nameserver setting are. Note that it can take up to 72 hours for those to fully propagate – though it’s usually less.

That might refer to moving the domain name registration – which is not allowed for 60 days after you register it.

That’s not the same as the nameserver settings – is this what you are looking at?
