    None of these are very opiginal in terms of design; I’ve just taken Kubrick and tweaked it a little. The sites are in the order that I designed them and I’ve been trying to be more adventurous as I’ve gone on. With the third site I’ve aimed for something more minimalist, although I’m not convinced I’ve got the right balance yet.

    Any comments are welcome, especially on how to do minimalism well. No color seems too cold, and yet even subtle colors can seem garish.

    1st one is kubrick
    2nd one is kubrick with a background image
    3rd doesn’t load

    Perhaps you missed the part above where I said: “I’ve just taken Kubrick…”

    Can’t think what happened with the third site not loading. It’s working fine for me and with several other people I asked to check it out.

    Afterthought — it’s a very new site and the DNS info may not have propagated to every server yet.
