If you are using Firefox, do you use any extensions at all which interfere with urls?
MR Tech’s Link Wrapper can do this.
Otherwise can you detail the browser / OS / firewall / AV and any other relevant info?

Firefox extensions I used:
Image Zoom
Image Bot
Downthemall
tabbrowser preference
session saver
greasemonkey
webdeveloper
dom inspector
site advisor
tab clicking options
OS: Windows Xp Home
Firewall: Norton Internet Security 2004
and Zone Alarm Basic (Free)
I don’t know what AV is sorry.
Browser’s I use are Opera, Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox (latest version)
I tried everything there but nothing resolves my problem I hope you the information I provided helped.
Thanks
You are certain that this:
Firewall: Norton Internet Security 2004
is not the problem? It is known to be … the culprit on many occasions.
Norton Internet Security 2004 was the problem for me just recently. I had turned my firewall off, and still had the problem. For kicks, I went through NIS and added my site every option. Problem went away. yeah, I know, that doesn’t make sense.
Hi,
I have this problem too. Just installed newest release of WP.
Tried with FF, Opera and IE6. Get this all over the place,
meaning I can’t do jack sh*t with the blog.
I’ve tried all of the things from http://codex.wordpress.org/Enable_Sending_Referrers – nothing works. It should be noted though, that the ZoneAlarm Pro guide doesn’t help at all, since there’s no menus called what the guide calls them. I even tried shutting ZoneAlarm off. Didn’t make a difference.
Take a look here:

Please read ALL the page and if needed contact the author first.
(Google ‘Kerio firewall’. It’s free and about a zillion times better than ZA)
Zone Alarm
Anything at all with the name ‘Norton’ in it.
Be nice to your PC.
Remove them.
There are freeware alternatives that actually work.
ZoneAlarm works just fine. I’m interested in a solution, not
your firewall religious beliefs.
Look at the link in my post?
