    what does spamming a comment do?
    I keep getting fake bag site comments
    setting as spam doesn’t prevent the next identical spam

    By spamming a comment, all you are doing is committing that comment to a pseudo-trash bin. If you want real, adaptive spam prevention, try Akismet. It’s probably the most used spam protection plugin.
