Themes Live view gives error

    http://www.websofic.com/wp-admin/customize.php?theme=black-lucas

    I am trying to change theme for my site but in the theme live view I get an error message, I am able to see only the navigation menu of my site but not the content.
    However if I click one of the navigation menu (like Home) the theme works fine.
    I have a feeling that I have a double “home” page and have no idea how to remove the wrong one without deleting the good one
    Please your help

    but if I click on the navigation menu it works… strange

    If you are referring to http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/black-lucas it is a very old theme (over 4 years old), may be incompatible with the current version of WordPress and may no longer be supported by its developer. I’d recommend that you switch to a much newer theme asap.

    well I have tried at least 6 themes before posting the question, is it possible that so many give the same issue?

    Pinzolo theme works but infect I see Home 2 times in the navigation menu :-/
    Any idea how can i delete the wrong one?

    If you are trying out older themes, yes. What about the Twenty Ten, Twenty Eleven and Twenty Twelve themes?

    Try switching to the 2012 theme and previewing the 2010 theme.

    I think I do not understand how to create a home page that will be seen as index.php

    I checked everywhere to get some help but the question is
    when you build your menu for a website how do you create the home page?

    I need to learn this as I have to build 3 websites with WordPress.
    Other pages it is easy but I am stuck with the home page/index.php one

    Any help?

    twenty ten gives no error message but also no content at all
    if I click the menu pages I get only the header image and the navigations

    switching back to twelve I see the same error message

    If you are looking to build your own theme, have you reviewed Theme Development?

    oh God no I really want to use the existing themes that is why I use WP in the first place 😉

    So start by switching to the 2012 theme and deactivating all plugins.

    I think I got it…
    I had to link the Home page to the static page…
    God I hope it will work for the other themes as well….
    In the meantime I would like to tell you that you are really professional, helpful and of great support, with you guys & girls the world is a better place 🙂
