can i access a database via wordpress api

    hi

    i have a store built with wordpress. i used a wp-ecommerce plugin to sell products. now, i want to make a html5 mobile app for my store so customers can buy products from my store using the app. what i want to know is, can i access the wordpress database via wordpress api? or any other simple way?
