I was using the manual decrypt method from the plugin page and the dbase file seems to decrypt OK, but when I try to unzip it with 7-zip. at about the 94% mark I get an error “Data error in backup_*****-db. File is broken. (The *** are my filename replacement) This is with version 1.6.1 of updraft I never tried it with the previous updraft version so not sure if it worked before.

The reason I’m trying the manual method is I can’t seem to download from Google drive through the updraft interface anymore. I’m getting an error there as well. “Google Drive error: zero-size file was downloaded”. It seems the backup part is working fine and I can see all the files in google drive and can download them directly from there. I’ve downloaded copies from Google drive with the updraft interface before (apr. 29) and it worked fine then.

noticed the post about w3-cache, I do have it activated so I’ll do more testing tomorrow with it off. I switched off object caching and tried the google download and that had the same error as before.

OK. So it sounds like there are two separate issues there.

    1) Google Drive failure to download: I reproduced this, and found that it was caused by Google changing the range of permissions granted by different grants recently. You need to de-install UpdraftPlus 1.6.1, then re-install it with a newly-obtained version from wordpress.org (or via WordPress’s built-in plugin installer) (I’ve released a new version with the same version number – if I bump the version number too frequently especially if it’s an issue not affecting everyone then it annoys people). Then re-authenticate with Google (click on the ‘click this link to complete authentication with Google.’ link) try again, and all should be well.

    2) Corrupt file. This could either be a problem in 7zip, or an actual corrupt file. Try Gzip for Windows (http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/gzip.htm). Or alternatively email me the file (contact@updraftplus.com) and I can let you know if the file is actually corrupt or not.
