One more piece of information that may help:
When I checked some of the URLs in Googles Structured Data Testing (Rich Snippets) tool, the search result preview showed up fine. However, the rdfa-node title showed up with the dash and the sitename added.
The reason I bring it up to start with is because for some reason, Google is indexing everything with the additional “- sitename,” which looks very tacky.
Thanks for taking a look.
Brand new installation of WordPress on test server. No plug-ins except Yoast SEO version 1.4.12.
Still having same problem with – Site Title being added to og:title!
Anyone???
I know I’m not the only one with the problem…with a new database and fresh install of everything.
Hey Lance_Kidd,
I get this too, however I thought that was the way it should be. What alternative output are you hoping to see?
Seeing this, too (SEO 1.4.12, WP 3.5.2).
I’d expect og:title, if it couldn’t be configured, to mirror the page title for the post type.
Ok. At least I’m not the only one. I, like Dave said, used to see the og:title showing the same as the post/page title, without the hyphen and site name.
I’ve looked on other sites, like WP Beginner, and their og:title is showing properly. I e-mailed them about it, and they said they didn’t know why.
But mainly, Google is indexing all my posts and pages with the hyphen and site title added to the end, although Googles checker shows the preview correctly and the title between the title tags is correct (as I have it set in the plug-in template).
I will check out the link and see what I can do.
Thanks again for responding though. I really appreciate it.
Thank you for the link. I’ve looked for a fix several times but could never find it. It worked like a charm. Thanks again!!!
As said in the other thread, will be fixed in the next release.
