    The .COM folks are the only ones who can do that for you. You’ll need to post on their forums here: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/

    I’ve tried to send a request on the .com site but it only gives me an option about my wordpress.com site.

    Yes, just post the request. You need to include both URL’s and also be sure that you have JetPack already installed and activated on your new self-hosted site.

    They told me I needed to come back here because it’s not hosted by wordpress.com. I am using another host but it’s a WP site.

    No, that’s an automated “supportbot” response – it automatically happens if you post without specifying a .COM site – wait a bit and someone (human) will reply :).
