Issue with Shortcode Parameters

    Question for you sir, I am trying to override the template setting by adding shortcode parameters.

    EXAMPLE:

    [wp_rss_multi_importer category=”7″ thisfeed=”1 showdate=”0″ showgroup=”0″ hdsize=”18px” hdweight=”500″ maximgwidth=”150″ hdweight=”500″ testyle=”color:#000000″]

    However, the shortcode thisfeed=”1” does not always override the template settings. Sometimes it will only show 1 and sometimes it shows several as set in template. On corresponding pages I am using thisfeed=”5″ which does not work either.

    Do you have any suggestions on how to make this work better or where my conflict might be. Greatly appreciated!

    Shortcode Settings
    number of entries per feed=4
    number of entries per page output=10
    Feed to post is set to 5 and 10.
    WP 3.5.1

    First of all, are there quotes around the parameter for thisfeed? In your example, there is only one quote, not a closing quote.

    I confirmed there is a full set of quotes around the parameter of thisfeeed. Sorry for the typo above.

    also, here is what I see using your exact shortcode parameters (with the category changed for my setup)…and as you can see it shows one items, as it should, based on the parameter

    I using default theme. Again, I went to my homepage feed that is set for “1” but “5” were showing.Then I went into edit page and republished and it set itself back to “1” showing. So I can’t share that error but on this example, it is set to “5” but only showing “1”.

    Silly question Allen but if I am more concerned about how many it is displaying rather what it is pulling should I then be using this: maxperpage=”1″ instead?

    First, let me suggest you clear the cache on your browser and then see if it’s working correctly
