menu item child count

hi.
loving this plug. the menu gives a count for the number of child pages under each top level section. is it possible to also include posts in this count? the majority of my site (www.budestrings.co.uk)content is in posts, which allows me to index content outside of the infrastructure of pages, so i would like the number in the ‘sheet music section to be the number of pages plus the number of posts in that section.
