I was looking at a prior forum post and I’m trying to understand how a pingback works. If I understand correctly, a blog user just has to post a link to my blog and if his blog is set to send and mine to receive I will get a pingback.

I’ve tried this using someones test blog http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/TestTrack/ that was posted on another post. The trackbacks work fine and end up in my awaiting moderation. But the pingbacks never seem to make it to my blog.

I’m using WordPress 2 and my blog is at http://www.geniearticles.com

By default your WP blog should be set to receive pingbacks. If the poster on another blog inserts a link to one of your posts an has his/her blogging software set to send pingBacks, it should show up at your blog, normally as a comment to the referred post.

Some explanation could be found here.
