Need help with site!

I was wondering if someone could help me with this. I’m new to wordpress but i’ve made a site for a friend, but i cant figure ut how to make it do some of the things i want it to.

In the left coloumn, under ‘Reviews’, I want it to change pictures with the latest posts under the review catagory, updating everytime i add a new one. What is the best way to achieve this?

I also want the other catagories below reviews (Home cinema, interviews) to also do this, but only from new posts from those catagories. Only the images tho. Is there anyway to do this?

it’s not a problem i’m having with the theme, just wanted to know what woud be the best plugin or code to use to achieve what i wanted.

It’s not that clear what you are wanting to do – but it sounds like you will need to create a custom template and modify the code accordingly: http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Creating_Your_Own_Page_Templates

For the specifics, you’ll need to contact the theme site – we only support themes from the repository on this site, sorry. If you want to use one of those, someone can likely help you.

the question is totally theme related, as the images below the ‘review’ headline seem to be in a slider which is likely part of the theme.

dig into the theme’s files to find out how those images are defined, and change them according to your ideas.

for the other headlines, you might need to replicate whatever code is used for the ‘reviews’ …

the slider (changing pictures) is made by me (using adobe flash) and is only put there as an example of how i want the final version to look, the theme has been custom made by me. I’m more used to using dreamweaver rather than wordpress, which is how i created the content that is on the left side, but i want the content to change whenever i add new posts to those three catagories. Sorry if it’s not very clear what I mean.

general, to get some posts of a category, you can code a secondary loop, using WP_Query().

hoewever, theme specific problems with themes not from http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ are not supported by this forum.
